Look down the hall
Faces quickly fall
See the sea of people
Their faces all look the same
All are filled with shame
Disappointment reigns supreme
In faces I can do naught to redeem
That facade of happiness
Put on by all to deal with life's meaningless repetition
Motions are gone through
People talk to one another
They say the same things every day
These trained conversations are passing me by
Never changing
Refusing to change
To grow, to love, to feel, to be.
Smiles quickly disappear
For the facade is shattered
Realization appears
With tears
Now faces are filled with disgust
Outrage, embarrassment, hatred, fear, humiliation, hopelessness,
Despair, want, need, depression...
Yet, on one face a smile blooms
Taking seed in knowledge and truth
And in the end
Is that not the point?
