I realize I don’t know you very well
But somehow I have tripped and fell
Thinking, thoughts of you come to mind
Never have I known anyone so kind.
And though I have tried to put it into words,
When I try to say them they fly away like birds.
So finally I have surrendered,
And with this pen, this poem I have rendered.
While I know you might not understand
The purpose in my mind that flows to my hand,
Unlike some that think they are above,
This poem is not a declaration of my love.
It is simply to let you know
How deep my fondness grows,
And how I smile at your sight,
And cannot help but feel delight.
At the sound of your voice,
My soul does rejoice.
And now to close:
This poem is not to impress or impose
Anything upon yourself.
It’s simply a thought by myself
To consider in your own time,
And hopefully such thoughts will be kind.
